What to expect

About

We pride ourselves on a slick handover to collect your boat. Here is what you can expect when you arrive for your holiday at Bridgecraft.

Prior to your arrival

Stephanie will call you 5-7 days before your holiday to confirm last minute preferences and details. You will be given an arrival slot to start the handover process. We stagger the arrivals throughout the day to ensure there are no long wait times or congestion at the boatyard.

Please ensure that your party have watched the Broads Authority safety videos "Boating Essentials". When you arrive at the Boatyard you will need to sign to declare that you have watched the videos prior to boarding your boat.

These videos can be found here:

Your arrival

When you arrive at the boatyard please notify a team member that you are here. Please note, we can not guarantee your boat will be ready if you arrive earlier than your allocated time slot. Your boat will be ready at your allocated arrival time unless unexpected maintenance is required. We will advise you upon your arrival in the unlikely event that this is the case.

We will show you to your boat and you can begin unloading your luggage and getting settled in.

Parking

When you have finished unloading onto your boat please come to reception and let us know you are ready to park. We will give you a parking permit and allocate you a parking space for the duration of your holiday.

Paperwork

Once parked, please come to reception to complete the paperwork with Stephanie. She will provide you with lifejackets and information for your holiday. You will be required to sign some documents and be provided with a Boat Manual.

Instruction

One of our instructors will give you a full walkthrough of your boat. They will show you how to safely use all equipment onboard, service points (fuel, water, pump out) and make sure you are confident prior to leaving.

They will give you full instruction on manouvring and handling of the boat, safety precautions, river etiquette and environmental considerations. Every boat will be taken on a trial run up the river with an instructor to demonstrate basic manouvres to ensure that you and the instructor are happy prior to leaving the boatyard.
